2009 Mazda BT-50 Facelift Introduced in Europe

Following its motorshow debut in London earlier this year, Mazda has announced the European market launch of the mildly facelifted BT-50 pickup truck. Exterior updates include the revised front-end that features a new grille and sliver-look headlamps bezels along with new 16-inch alloy wheels for the 4WD models. In the interior, changes are limited to the higher quality fabrics, new seat colors and lighting for the instrument panel, climate and audio controls. The center console is also upgraded with an all-silver look. -Continued

Mechanical improvements are restricted to minor suspension tweaks. The BT-50 retains the 143HP 2.5-liter turbo diesel engine, however, exclusively for the UK market, Mazda has introduced a new 156HP 3.0-liter common-rail turbo diesel engine that's hooked up to an also new 5-speed automatic transmission.

As with the outgoing model, three cab versions are available (depending on market) with room for two (Regular Cab), four (Freestyle Cab) or five passengers (Double Cab) and cargo box lengths of 2,280 mm, 1,753 mm or 1,530 mm respectively.
